How to read BarCalcs's numbers, and how the site pays for itself.
Last updated August 2026
Calculations are estimates
Every BarCalcs result depends entirely on the numbers you enter. Yield loss, spillage, over-pouring, ice dilution, comps, waste, tax and local pricing rules can all move real-world figures away from the estimate. Treat outputs as a planning baseline and confirm against your own invoices, counts and POS reports.
ABV and standard drinks
The Cocktail ABV Calculator estimates finished strength from the ingredients and dilution you specify, using the US standard drink of 0.6 fl oz of pure ethanol. Actual strength varies with ice, dilution technique, batching and pour accuracy. Nothing on this site is guidance about safe consumption or responsible-service law in your jurisdiction.
Affiliate disclosure
Some outbound links on BarCalcs are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something after clicking — at no extra cost to you. Affiliate and sponsored placements are labeled where they appear. Commission never changes a calculator's math, and we do not accept payment to alter results.
